Play Group Assistant

The Nurture Hub was founded in 2025 to bring families together in a calm, safe and welcoming environment. We have created a community where parents and carers can bring their children to enjoy play groups, sensory activities, crafts and more. We are looking for a friendly, caring and energetic Playgroup Café Assistant to join our welcoming team. Our café is a fun, relaxed space where babies, toddlers and their parents/carers can meet, play, enjoy refreshments and feel at home. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and creating a warm, positive environment for families. You will work Friday and Saturday 8:30-3:30 (13 hour contract) with overtime available.

What will the role include?

You will help with the day to day running of the café and playgroup, making sure children and their parents/carers have a safe, enjoyable and welcoming experience.

· Welcoming families and creating a friendly atmosphere

· Helping to set up and tidy the play café

· Engaging with parents/carers during play sessions

· Supporting play activities, crafts and group activities

· Preparing and serving drinks, snacks and light refreshments

· Keeping play areas, tables and equipment clean and tidy

· Following appropriate health, safety and hygiene procedures

About you

· Warm friendly and approachable

· Confident and comfortable around babies and toddlers, previous experience preferred

· Patient, caring and attentive

· Energetic and happy to get involved in play

· Reliable, responsible and organised

· Able to work independently (often lone working, this role requires you to be 18+)

· Creative with the ability to plan play group sessions

Previous experience working with young children, in childcare, hospitality, playgroups or similar settings is desirable, but above all we are looking for someone with the right attitude and genuine love of working with families.

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 13.0 per week
