Cook / Kitchen Team Member – Milepost CoffeeStandish, WiganPart-time / Full-time considered

Milepost Coffee is an independent coffee shop focused on quality coffee, simple well-executed brunch food, and a calm welcoming atmosphere.

We’re looking for a reliable and motivated cook to join our small team. The role will involve preparing a focused brunch menu during the day alongside sandwiches and toasties during the afternoon service.

This is a hands-on role in a compact prep kitchen, so organisation, cleanliness, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing and serving brunch dishes to a high standard
  • Making sandwiches, toasties, and light lunch items
  • Ensuring every dish is presented with care and consistency
  • Taking pride in food presentation and maintaining high visual standards
  • Managing prep and keeping the kitchen organised throughout service
  • Working closely with the front of house/barista team
  • Following food hygiene and safety procedures at all times
  • Supporting stock rotation and kitchen cleanliness

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous kitchen or café experience is essential
  • Someone who genuinely cares about food presentation and consistency
  • Strong standards of cleanliness and organisation
  • Able to work well in a small team and small kitchen environment
  • Calm, reliable, and efficient during busy periods
