Barista / Coffee House Manager – The Cissbury Tap, Findon Valley

We’ve already got a great pub and a brilliant team. Now we’re doing something new - bringing The Cissbury Tap to life as a coffee house in the mornings - and we’re looking for someone to help make it happen!

This is a chance to get involved from the start, bring your ideas and help create a welcoming morning spot that becomes part of the neighbourhood’s daily routine.

We’ve got the space. Have you got the vision?

There’s plenty here to get excited about:

A large indoor seating area, with an upgrade coming soon to make it even more inviting.

A spacious back garden seating area with a retractable roof, giving customers a lovely place to enjoy their coffee throughout the year.

A large bar area with plenty of fridge space, giving you room to prepare, serve and develop the offering.

An office with space for supplies, plus a separate dry store for those extra essentials.

Two customer toilets, helping make it a comfortable place to settle in and stay a while.

Add a friendly team and a much-loved local pub, and we think a morning coffee house would be an awesome addition.

Great coffee doesn’t have to mean big prices.

You won’t be tied to chain pricing, so there’s no pressure to charge inflated prices. We also have great access to fantastic independent coffee wholesalers offering fair-trade and ethically sourced coffee, helping us serve quality coffee at fair, accessible prices.

You’ll help us:

Shape the coffee offering and morning experience.
Explore what tasty extras would work alongside it.
Welcome customers, learn their favourites and keep them coming back.
Get things up and running, then take the lead on the day-to-day operation.

You could be our perfect blend if you:

  • Have barista experience and care about making consistently great coffee.
  • Have the confidence and organisation to run a morning service.
  • Are friendly, full of initiative and happy to roll your sleeves up.
  • Like the idea of building something new with a supportive team behind you.

Perhaps you’re an experienced barista ready for more responsibility, or a café manager looking for a fresh challenge. Either way, we’d love to hear your ideas.

Hours, pay and the shape of the role to be discussed with the right person - I have used an indicative hourly pay for now but we are happy to consider all options to ensure the right person benefits from our joint success.
