Are you passionate about great coffee and providing excellent customer service? We're looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Barista to join our weekend team at The Coffee Box in Hickstead.

Experience is essential for this role, due to this being a busy, fast-paced environment. Therefore you'll need at least 2 years café experience, and have good knowledge of making speciality coffee. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, community-focused business and develop your skills in a supportive environment.

As one of the faces of The Coffee Box, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers and helping deliver the exceptional service that keeps them coming back week after week.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing high-quality coffee and hot drinks
• Preparing simple food items, including breakfast rolls and toasties
• Providing friendly and professional customer service
• Operating the till and handling customer payments
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
• Assisting with stock management and restocking products as required
• Supporting the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
• Helping create a positive and welcoming environment for customers

Hours

You must be available to work on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturdays:

• 6.30am - 1.15pm

Sundays:

• 8am - 1.15pm

Additional shifts will be available between Monday - Friday should you want them, but your contracted days are for Saturdays and Sundays only.

• Previous café or hospitality experience is essential

Training & Development

Previous barista experience is essential. We will also provide additional training and ongoing support to help you develop your skills and confidence.

You'll also have the opportunity to receive additional specialist coffee training from our fantastic speciality coffee roasting partner, learning about coffee preparation, extraction, milk texturing, and customer service from experienced professionals.

Minimum Age

Due to the location and occasional lone working, you must be over the age of 18 years old.

Driving License

Due to the location and lack of public transport options, we only recommend you apply for this position if you have a driving license and your own vehicle.
