Job Description:
We are looking for an energetic and customer-focused Barista to join our team at Lucia York. This role goes beyond coffee-making — you’ll play a key part in creating an exceptional guest experience by preparing high-quality beverages and beautifully presented desserts. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy engaging with customers, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
  • Deliver a high-energy, friendly, and attentive customer experience at all times
  • Prepare, plate, and present desserts to a high standard, ensuring visual appeal and consistency
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station and dessert preparation areas
  • Handle customer orders efficiently and accurately
  • Operate POS systems and handle cash/card transactions
  • Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements:

  • Previous barista or hospitality experience is essential
  • Passion for coffee, desserts, and customer service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Positive attitude with a proactive, can-do approach
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
