Salary:- £16.50 per hour

Hours:- 20 hours per week

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef de Partie to join our kitchen brigade. You will take responsibility for a section of the kitchen and support the Head and Sous Chefs in delivering high-quality food for our guests. You will play a key role in maintaining hygiene standards, training junior staff, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run and manage a designated section (e.g. grill, larder, breakfast) to high standards.
  • Prepare and present dishes consistently in line with portion sizes and brand standards.
  • Support in planning daily production and mis-en-place.
  • Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure service runs efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in your section, adhering to food hygiene standards (HACCP).
  • Monitor stock rotation and reduce food waste in line with company sustainability targets.
  • Train and supervise Commis Chefs and Kitchen Porters where required.
  • Assist with deliveries, storage and kitchen opening/closing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety and food safety legislation.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Chef de Partie role within a hotel, high-volume restaurant or similar environment.
  • A relevant food or hospitality qualification is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety (Level 2 Food Hygiene minimum).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A team player with a positive, “hands-on” attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
  • Flexibility to work across shifts including early mornings, weekends and bank holidays.

Working Conditions

  • Standing for long periods and handling hot equipment and sharp tools.
  • The role involves early starts, late finishes, weekends, and bank holidays, based on a rota system to meet the needs of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and occasional events.
  • You will be expected to work as part of a small but dynamic team, sometimes under pressure during peak service times.
  • Uniform and meals on duty are provided.
  • The kitchen follows strict hygiene and health & safety standards, and adherence is mandatory at all times.
  • Flexibility to support other kitchen sections when needed is required.
