Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Car Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a commitment to quality workmanship. This is a paid position suitable for individuals passionate about automotive repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues using diagnostic tools
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and other vehicle systems
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs
  • Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities, including heavy lifting and equipment repair
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each vehicle
  • Assist with vehicle assembly or disassembly as required for complex repairs
  • Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and estimated completion times
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Car Mechanic or similar role with strong mechanical knowledge (3-5 years minimum work experience)
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and equipment repair techniques
  • Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual tasks associated with automotive repair
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
  • Organisation skills to manage multiple repairs efficiently
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive technology are desirable but not essential
