Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing for those in need of assistance. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalised care and support.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
  • Support clients in adhering to personalised care plans, ensuring their specific needs are met with sensitivity and respect.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, observations, and any changes in clients’ conditions.
  • Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Support clients with light domestic tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organising personal belongings.
  • Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care delivery.

Requirements

  • Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely within the community.
  • Experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow them accurately.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for clear communication.
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining records and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach towards clients.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about caring for others and committed to delivering exceptional support that enhances quality of life.
