Full job description

Care and Compliance Coordinator

Location: Bedford

Pay: £14.50-£16 per hour depending on experience

Bedfordshire Supported Housing is a provider of social care and support services in Bedford since 2011. Our values underpin our mission to provide a safe and effective service that focuses on every service user as an individual. Each value summaries the principles that employees at BSH have in common and upon which our culture is based. Our values are:

  • Innovative
  • Caring
  • Professional
  • Courage
  • Compassion
  • Competence
  • Equality

If you share those values we are looking for you.

About the Role

In this role, you'll be an integral member of a team of 3 Coordinators in the Domiciliary Care management team. It's a dynamic position, split between office and fieldwork. Hours in the field may vary due to the needs of the service, we anticipate an average of two days per week.

Your responsibilities will include all aspects of care and compliance, from setting up new care packages and conducting pre-admission and needs assessments, to developing care plans and risk assessments, as well as continuous care reviews.

The role involves delivering care in the field as part of a ‘run’ on scheduled days, and from time to time, starting the initial call for a new care package to understand the care requirements and introducing new carers to service users. Field-based spot checks, along with support and monitoring of care compliance, are part of your duties. You'll conduct audits on all care files, E-MARs sheets, and regularly review progress notes, task completion, and call durations.

About You

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be extremely resilient and highly discreet when working with confidential and sensitive data.

In addition to having strong computer skills, you will have an excellent telephone manner, be proactive, and keen to learn. Ideally, you would have experience and knowledge of working in a home care / social care setting and carrying out audits in a senior role. Knowledge of using Access Care Planning and People Planner systems is an advantage but not essential.

Part of the role involves building key professional relationships with the local authority social care teams, Community mental Health teams, and continuous communication with our community support worker team on the ground, therefore you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

In return, you will be working for a supportive, dynamic cohesive team led by a very accessible Registered Manager and Care Team Manager who both listen. We can offer you regular on-the-job supervision, training opportunities, staff recognition awards, and opportunities to progress within BSH.
