Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including supported living, assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and independence of those in their care, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity at all times. Prior experience in senior care, dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice care, or child care is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through attentive caregiving and personalised support.

Duties

  • Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
  • Provide patient care tailored to individual needs, including medication administration and health monitoring
  • Support with meal preparation and feeding for clients with specific dietary requirements
  • Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases of dementia or Alzheimer's disease
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental wellbeing
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Support clients with mobility issues through safe lifting and transfer techniques
  • Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safety during transit
  • Administer first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies
  • Document care provided accurately in compliance with organisational policies

Skills

  • Proven experience in assisted living, senior care or home care environments
  • Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication management and behaviour management techniques
  • Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice or palliative care approaches
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with compassion
  • Valid driving licence preferred for transportation duties
  • Basic first aid certification is advantageous
  • Organised approach to caregiving with strong attention to detail
  • Childcare experience is a plus for roles involving younger clients
