Location: Ely, Cardiff
Salary: Competitive (based on 40hours per week)
Hours: 6-day rolling rota

About Willow House

Willow House is a small, specialist children’s home in Ely, Cardiff supporting children and young people with additional learning needs and complex needs. We provide a calm, nurturing and structured environment where young people feel safe, supported and able to thrive.

We are expanding and are looking for enthusiastic and caring Residential Support Workers who are either registered, or working towards registration, with Social Care Wales and who want to make a genuine difference.

Role Overview

As a Residential Support Worker, you will support children and young people with additional and complex needs to live safe, happy and fulfilling lives. You will work as part of a professional team delivering person centred care that promotes wellbeing and stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build warm, trusting and positive relationships with young people
  • Support children with daily routines, personal care and activities
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive life skills
  • Support children to access education, appointments and community activities
  • Follow care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic records and reports
  • Encourage, recognise and celebrate progress and achievements

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or willingness to work towards
  • Full UK driving licence – essential
  • Experience in residential childcare or supporting individuals with additional needs (preferred)
  • A compassionate, reliable and motivated approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and trauma informed practice
