Job Introduction

Live-in Female Support Worker

Pay rate: £162.50 per day + £10 per day food allowance (Weekly or Monthly pay available)
Shift pattern: 1 week on and 1 week off - 12:00pm Monday - 12:00pm Monday

You must have a Full UK Automatic Drivers License

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Female Live-In Support Worker to support a gentleman living in his fully adapted bungalow in Gedling, Nottingham.

Following a spinal injury (C5/C6), he is a full-time wheelchair user and requires support with his daily living needs. Despite his injury, he remains independent in many aspects of his life, like managing his own affairs. He is keen to get out and about regularly and is looking for someone who is positive, engaging, and willing to support him in living life to the fullest.

About the Role

You will provide person-centred 1:1 support in their home and within the community, assisting with daily routines while promoting independence wherever possible.

Duties may include:

  • Bowel care management
  • Catheter care
  • Hoist transfers
  • Monitoring and recording observations
  • Supporting with diabetes management (full training provided by the person we support)
  • Supporting with appointments and community access
  • Driving the client to activities, including hydrotherapy and Nottingham Forest matches
  • Household tasks and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the home
  • Preparing drinks and light refreshments
  • Providing companionship and engaging conversation
  • Supporting the client with hobbies, including spending time in his adapted woodworking cabin

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is comfortable supporting someone who likes things done in a particular way
  • Enjoys building positive working relationships
  • Is willing to be flexible and support spontaneous day-to-day activities

Requirements

  • Experience supporting individuals with spinal injuries or complex care needs is preferred
  • Previous care experience
  • Full specialist training will be provided by our clinical team, so candidates with the right attitude and values are encouraged to apply
  • Female applicants only (occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010)
  • Full UK driving licence - Automatic only
  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to commit to a live-in working pattern of one week on, one week off.
