Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator on a casual basis to join our team at Portico Port Services Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to load and unload cargo efficiently within our warehouse environment. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of providing exceptional service in the shipping industry.

Shifts vary on a casual basis, approx. 1-2 a week and more during busy periods.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load and unload cargo.
  • Manage the organization of goods within the warehouse to optimize space.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accuracy in documentation.
  • Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections and minor repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak times.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems for tracking inventory levels.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or similar role in a warehouse setting.
  • Valid forklift operator certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.
  • Basic math skills for inventory management and documentation purposes.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
