COOK WANTED — Family-Run Caribbean Restaurant, Dalston

Join our dynamic culinary team and bring your passion for food to life! We're a fast-growing, family-run restaurant serving authentic Caribbean home cooking, and we're looking for a Cook to help us create delicious, high-quality dishes that delight our guests. We're looking for an energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining food safety standards while showcasing their culinary skills.

We need someone to start ASAP. Full training will be provided.

About the Role
Part time contract, with a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and cook a variety of dishes according to our recipes and standards
  • Ensure all food safety and sanitation protocols are strictly followed during preparation and service
  • Support with kitchen operations, including stock control and proper storage of ingredients
  • Support meal presentation to ensure visually appealing dishes are served to guests
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver efficient service during busy periods

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 2 years' proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar kitchen role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, busy kitchen
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Strong understanding of culinary techniques and kitchen equipment operation
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • A genuine love of cooking and a strong eye for detail
  • Must be local to Dalston or within a 45min–1hr commute
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK
