Carpenter – Fire Door Installation & Maintenance

Location: Northampton & surrounding areas

About the Role

Sentinel Projects is looking for a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our fire‑safety installation team. The role focuses on installing and maintaining fire doors, fire partitions, and carrying out general carpentry duties across commercial and residential sites. You’ll play a key part in ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant, and protected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install new fire doors, frames, and associated ironmongery to certified standards
  • Carry out fire door inspections, maintenance, and remedial repairs
  • Install and maintain fire partitions and other fire‑stopping components
  • Complete general carpentry tasks such as door hanging, framing, skirting, architraves, and minor joinery repairs
  • Ensure all work meets current fire‑safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
  • Work independently or as part of a team on various sites
  • Maintain accurate job records and communicate clearly with clients and the office team
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and uphold Sentinel Projects’ quality standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a carpenter or joiner
  • Strong knowledge of door installation and general carpentry practices
  • Experience with fire doors (installation or maintenance) is preferred but training can be provided
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings
  • Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence
  • CSCS card preferred
