Work-Based Learning Practitioner – Carpentry & Joinery

Excell Supply is recruiting for a Work-Based Learning Practitioner specialising in Carpentry & Joinery, based in Deeside. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced tradesperson who is passionate about supporting learners and developing the next generation of skilled professionals.

Location: Deeside, with regular travel to learners’ workplaces
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Pay: £35PH

The Role

You will assess, support and guide learners working towards their Carpentry & Joinery qualifications. Managing your own caseload, you will spend much of your working week visiting learners in their workplaces, monitoring progress, providing coaching and mentoring, and helping apprentices achieve their qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessing learners’ practical skills and progress towards their qualifications.
• Managing a caseload of apprentices and work-based learners.
• Visiting employers and learners at their workplaces regularly.
• Providing coaching, mentoring and constructive feedback.
• Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and develop their trade skills.
• Maintaining accurate learner records and monitoring progress.
• Building positive relationships with learners and employers.

Essential Requirements:

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Carpentry & Joinery, or equivalent.
• Proven, relevant industry experience.
• Level 2 English and Maths, or equivalent, at Grade C/4 or above.
• A genuine passion for supporting learners and developing apprentices.
• The ability to travel regularly to employer sites.
• Welsh language skills, or a willingness to learn Welsh through a supported development plan.

Don't have an assessor qualification?

That's not a problem! Support can be provided to work towards relevant qualifications, including TAQA, Quality Assurance (TAQA Unit 401) and Digital Literacy Level 2.
