Job Summary

The Role

We need first and second fix carpenters comfortable working to a high specification — from structural timberwork and roof carpentry through to staircases, doors, skirting, architrave and bespoke joinery. Work is based across Surrey and Sussex, with projects being predominately residential new builds.

  • First fix: floor joists, stud walls, roof carpentry, door linings
  • Second fix: doors, skirting, architrave, staircases, kitchens
  • Working from drawings and to a high-end finish standard
  • Site-based work across the Surrey & Sussex area
  • The role will involve some construction-based works as well as carpentry
  • Hours are 7:30am – 4:30pm

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a carpenter (site or bespoke joinery)
  • CIS-registered, self-employed
  • Full range of own tools and your own van
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Ability to work independently and read drawings
  • Two references from previous contracts
  • A genuine eye for detail and quality of finish

What You'll Get

  • £180-250 per day, dependent on experience— paid bi-weekly
  • A steady pipeline of premium, interesting projects
  • Long-term, regular work — not one-off jobs

  • Clear communication and proper project management on every site
