Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Joiner to join our dynamic construction and restoration team in Plymouth for a Monday start.
1-2 weeks work initially
Rate is £24.95 an hour CIS or umbrella

As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for crafting, installing, and repairing a wide range of wooden and other material structures on various projects. Your expertise will contribute to high-quality finishes, structural integrity, and the overall success of our construction and restoration initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new builds to restoration jobs, utilizing your craftsmanship and technical skills to deliver exceptional results.
Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install wooden frameworks, fixtures, cabinetry, doors, siding, and other custom woodwork according to blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical plans to ensure precise execution of projects
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for tasks such as framing, trimming, caulking, plastering, and finishing work
- Install fixtures including doors, windows, cabinets, moldings, and hardware with attention to detail
- Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for framing, roofing support structures, rebar installation in concrete forms, or metal stud framing
- Assist in restoration projects involving water damage remediation, stucco application, siding replacement, or masonry repairs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining safety standards on construction sites
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry or joinery within the construction or restoration industry
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and fabrication techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers; power tools including drills and nail guns; CNC machinery experience is a plus
- Familiarity with various construction disciplines such as framing (wooden or metal), roofing, drywall installation (including plastering), flooring installation (tile or wood), and fixture installation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights when necessary for roofing or siding projects
- Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety protocols; water damage restoration or mold remediation experience is advantageous
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, masonry work or water damage restoration is beneficial but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Valid certifications related to construction safety standards (such as OSHA) are preferred
