Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carpet Fitter/Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing high-quality carpets and flooring, as well as assisting with general maintenance tasks across various facilities. Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and fit carpets and flooring materials accurately according to project specifications
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing subfloors to ensure proper installation
• Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and pry bars to remove old flooring or make adjustments during installation
• Operate power tools including drills, saws, and staplers safely and efficiently
• Assist with general maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs, and schematic reading for troubleshooting purposes
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment during all phases of installation and maintenance
• Support team members with carpentry tasks or other construction-related duties as needed

Skills

• Proven construction experience with a focus on flooring installation or related trades
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Basic carpentry skills including framing, cutting, and assembling structures
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or technical drawings for precise work execution
• Knowledge of construction painting techniques and surface preparation methods
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Good physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
