Carpet fitting jobs in Eastwood

Nottingham Carpets and Blinds is looking for a competent, hungry person with the ability and attitude to go through intensive training and become a high-standard carpet fitter.

Previous carpet-fitting experience is not required. We are looking for someone who is practical, switched on, physically capable and serious about learning a skilled trade. The training will be demanding and hands-on. You will be expected to listen, practise, accept feedback and improve quickly.

The role

• Work alongside experienced fitters on domestic installations across Nottingham and surrounding areas.

• Learn every stage of the job, from preparing the room and subfloor through to completing a clean, professional carpet installation.

• Develop accurate measuring, cutting, planning and problem-solving skills.

• Learn to fit underlay, gripper, door bars, seams, joins, stairs, landings and hallways correctly.

• Handle uplift and removal work, furniture moving and heavy flooring materials safely.

• Protect customers’ homes and leave each property clean and tidy.

• Take increasing responsibility as your competence improves, with the aim of becoming an independent fitter.

• Hungry to learn, progress and build a long-term career.

• Competent, practical and able to understand instructions quickly.

• Reliable, punctual and prepared for hard physical work every day.

• Good basic numeracy and strong attention to detail.

• Able to stay calm, solve problems and maintain standards under pressure.

• Comfortable receiving direct feedback and repeating tasks until they are right.

• Polite, presentable and respectful in customers’ homes.

• Full UK driving licence (essential).

• £27,000–£40,000 per year, with pay linked to ability, progress, quality of workmanship and level of independence.
