Carpet fitting jobs in Great Bookham

We are looking for a Trainee Floor Layer to join our growing flooring business. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn a skilled trade and develop into a fully qualified floor layer.

No previous flooring experience is essential , although experience in construction, labouring or another hands-on trade would be an advantage. The most important things are a good attitude, reliability and a genuine willingness to learn.

The Role

You will work alongside experienced floor layers and receive hands-on training across a wide range of flooring installations, including:

• Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), including straight lay and herringbone
• Carpet and underlay
• Laminate and engineered wood flooring
• Subfloor preparation, including latex/levelling compounds and plywood
• Uplifting and disposing of existing flooring
• Measuring, cutting and preparing materials
• Moving materials, tools and equipment
• Keeping work areas clean and organised
• Learning professional fitting techniques and finishing standards

As your skills and confidence develop, you will be given more responsibility and the opportunity to progress into carrying out installations independently.

A full UK driving licence is preferred, but this can be discussed depending on circumstances.
