Carpet Trader is a well-established, family-run flooring business based in Bicester, and we're looking for the right person to join our team as a Trainee Carpet Fitter to join our employed installation team.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys dealing with customers and wants to be part of a friendly, professional team.

The Role

You'll be responsible for installing carpets in customers' homes and commercial premises across Bicester and the surrounding areas.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Fitting carpets to a high professional standard
• Installing underlay, gripper and door bars
• Fitting stairs, landings and more complex areas
• Uplifting and disposing of existing flooring where required
• Moving furniture where included within the customer's order
• Checking materials and job details before installation
• Keeping customers' homes clean and protected while working
• Taking before and completion photographs
• Completing customer sign-off paperwork
• Providing friendly and professional customer service
• Looking after Company tools, equipment and vehicles

Previous experience fitting carpet, vinyl, laminate, LVT, Amtico or Karndean would be an advantage, but isn't essential.

What We're Looking For

You'll need:

• Previous professional carpet fitting experience
• Good practical and problem-solving skills
• High standards of workmanship
• Excellent attention to detail
• A friendly and professional approach with customers
• Reliability and good timekeeping
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A full UK driving licence
