Responsibilities

• Measure and prepare surfaces for flooring installation, ensuring accuracy according to schematics and project specifications
• Cut, shape, and lay flooring materials such as vinyl, laminate, carpet, or hardwood using hand tools and power tools
• Follow detailed schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise fitting of flooring components
• Operate power tools safely and effectively during installation or repair processes
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or screeding as required before laying new flooring
• Apply adhesives or other fixing agents securely to ensure durable finishes
• Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process to maintain high standards
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

• 5 years proven experience in flooring installation is highly desirable
• Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and instructions accurately
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure precise fitting and finishing
• Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials safely and work on-site for extended periods
• Relevant qualifications such as CSCS card or certifications in construction or flooring are preferred
• Drivers license and own vehicle required
• Willingness to travel the UK to different sites
• Majority of works throughout the North
• Can be individual or team
• Rates of pay based upon each job and requirements
