Experienced and Fully Qualified Commercial Floor Layer - Greater Manchester

A G Flooring Ltd is looking for an experienced and fully qualified Commercial Floor Layer to join our growing team. We specialise in commercial flooring installations, refurbishment and maintenance, with a strong focus on healthcare, public sector, education and commercial environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced floor layer looking for a long-term position with a professional and established flooring contractor.

The Role

As a Commercial Floor Layer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality flooring installations across Greater Manchester and occasionally further afield. You will work independently and as part of a team, liaising with our Contracts Managers, clients and other trades to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing a range of commercial flooring products including safety flooring, sheet vinyl, LVT, vinyl, carpet tiles and other floor coverings.
• Subfloor preparation, including cleaning, priming, smoothing compounds and screeds.
• Measuring, cutting and accurately fitting flooring materials.
• Carrying out flooring repairs, remedial works and maintenance.
• Working from drawings, specifications and project instructions.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a consistently high standard.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Following company and site-specific health & safety procedures.
• Communicating professionally with clients, site managers and colleagues.
• Completing work within agreed timescales while maintaining quality.
• Working across a variety of healthcare, public sector, education and commercial sites.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a fully qualified and experienced Floor Layer.
• Has a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Floorcoverings/Flooring Installation or equivalent.
• Has substantial experience in commercial flooring.
• Has experience installing sheet vinyl, safety flooring, LVT and/or carpet tiles.
• Takes pride in their workmanship and has excellent attention to detail.
• Can work independently and manage their own workload.
• Has good communication and customer-facing skills.
• Understands the importance of health & safety and working within site procedures.
• Is reliable, professional and takes pride in representing the company.
• Holds a full UK driving licence.
• Holds a CSCS card or is willing to obtain one.
• Is willing to undertake DBS clearance, as much of our work is carried out within hospitals, schools and other public-sector environments.

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications + overtime
