Thomas & Sons Construction are recruiting a flooring installer; we are seeking a skilled carpet fitter/floor layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation, including the ability to work with various materials and techniques. This role requires proficiency in using both power and hand tools, as well as a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes.

The floor layer will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining different types of flooring in residential and commercial settings. to be successful candidates must be experienced, highly motivated, quality conscious, need to pass all security and enhanced DBS, clean driving licence, hardworking and reliable.

Main Duties:

• Installing various flooring materials
• Measure and cut flooring materials to fit designated areas accurately
• Must have experience in fitting carpet, vinyl, vinyl tiles and screeding.
• Use power tools and hand tools effectively to complete installations.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or applying adhesives as necessary
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
• Troubleshoot any issues that arise during installation and make necessary adjustments.
• Liaising with clients / site managers on project progress
• Liaising with office staff about supplies & materials
• provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be / have:

• Experience in installing various flooring systems
• Able to work as a team or individual
• Good people skills
• Enthusiastic
• Good attention to detail
• Flexible & willing to travel at short notice (if needed)
• Travelling and staying away from home (if needed)
• CSCS card
• Proven experience as a carpet fitter / Floor Layer or in a similar role is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
• Full driving license essential
• Need to pass security clearance and enhanced DBS checks

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent,

39 Hours per week

Overtime available

Pay negotiable depending on experience
