Full job description

We are currently recruiting an experienced and compassionate Live-In Complex Care Carer to support an 18-year-old male with complex health and care needs in his family home.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young adult with cerebral palsy, quadriplegia, epilepsy, scoliosis, and respiratory needs, enabling him to live safely and comfortably while promoting his independence, choice, and quality of life.

About the Client

The client lives at home with his mother, who is actively involved in his care and provides ongoing support. He communicates using an eye-gaze communication system and enjoys music, social interaction, and watching cartoons on YouTube.

He requires full support with all aspects of daily living, including:

  • PEG feeding and medication administration
  • Personal care
  • Repositioning and pressure care
  • Moving and handling using a ceiling hoist
  • Continence and bowel management
  • Respiratory care and suctioning
  • Monitoring and supporting epilepsy management

The client attends college Monday to Friday from 9:00am – 4:00pm, where he receives full support from college staff. Carers are not required to accompany him during college hours.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have experience and confidence in:

  • Complex care
  • PEG feeding
  • Epilepsy awareness and management
  • Suctioning and respiratory care
  • Moving and handling
  • Hoist use
  • Repositioning techniques
  • Delivering person-centred care

A calm, patient, and compassionate approach is essential, as the client prefers a low-stimulation environment and communicates through both verbal and non-verbal methods.

Package Details

  • £1,200 per week
