Catering Assistant - Fixed Term 9 month contract
Do you enjoy working as part of a friendly team and take pride in preparing and serving food to a high standard? Then this opportunity could be for you!
About the opportunity
As a Catering Assistant at Hospice in the Weald, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of our catering service across our Pembury and Five Ashes sites.
You will help prepare, present, and serve food safely and to a high standard, while maintaining clean, organised, and welcoming kitchen and catering areas. Your work will help ensure patients, families, visitors, volunteers, and colleagues receive refreshments and meals that are prepared with care.
This is a varied and practical role, which may include preparing and presenting food, washing up, mopping floors, cleaning kitchen areas, assisting with deliveries, and supporting events with refreshments.
You will follow food hygiene, health and safety, and sustainability practices, helping us provide a safe, efficient, and high-quality service every day.
This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a supportive and welcoming team, making a practical difference to the experience of everyone who uses our Hospice services.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and flexible person who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in completing practical tasks to a high standard.
You should have good attention to detail, a positive and helpful approach, and be comfortable following food hygiene, health and safety, and Hospice procedures. Previous knowledge of food hygiene would be helpful, although training can be provided where needed.
The ability to work flexibly across different tasks is important, along with reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to supporting the values and work of Hospice in the Weald.
Further information
This role is based across Hospice in the Weald sites at Pembury and Five Ashes.
The role is 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Sunday between 7.30am and 6.30pm. The salary is £12.41 per hour.
Full support and training will be provided, and you will be welcomed into a friendly team environment.
