Full job description

Our small but growing events and shoot catering business is looking for a motivated individual to assist us across multiple aspects of the business.

Primary roles include supporting our chefs with food preparation, kitchen porter duties and deliveries in our Electric van. Kitchen experience is preferred but not essential as training will be given. A love of food is a must as, if willing, we will look to improve your cooking skills.

Duties will include:

  • Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible.
  • Deliveries (driving license is essential)
  • Food Preparation.
  • Collect and wash up pots and pans.
  • Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery and cutlery.
  • Unload food and equipment deliveries.
  • Keep the storeroom organised.
  • Keep work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitised.

Skills Needed:

  • Full Clean UK driving license.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A hardworking and diligent attitude.
  • Be able to work as part of a team but also take personal initiative.
  • Reasonable physical fitness as we are on our feet a lot of the day.

Weekly hours will change dependent on jobs we receive but realistically it will be anywhere between 35 – 45 hours weekly.

A little about the company, Gray’s Inn Kitchen, mostly serves food for photoshoots for the fashion industry, meaning the vast majority of our jobs are Monday to Friday, during the morning and lunch service. We have early starts in the morning but are quite often finished by 2pm (if not earlier!) each day, so if you are looking to get your evenings and weekends back, then this is the job for you! We do occasionally work some weekend days and evenings but this is only really ever maybe once a month or so. The contracted hours are 40 a week but we often have weeks where sometimes it is only 35 hours and some weeks where it may be 45 hours, so a bit of flexibility is needed. The job is salaried at £28,000 per annum plus performance bonus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Discounted or free food

Experience:

  • kitchen: 1 year (preferred)
