Butler for Prestigious Fully Staffed UHNW Residence – Surrey

Location: Surrey
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum, negotiable DOE
Status: Live-in or Live-out
Schedule: 5 days per week, shifts vary according to the family’s movements; flexibility for occasional weekends required
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Permanent, Full-time

About the Role

A prestigious fully staffed private residence in Surrey is seeking an experienced Butler to join its service team. Reporting to the Head Butler, you will provide polished and discreet service to the principals and their guests, with a particular focus on food and beverage service, table setting and supporting the smooth running of the household. This is a hands-on position suited to a Butler from a private household, luxury hotel or five-star hospitality background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide silver service, plated service and family-style service as required
  • Set and dress tables for daily meals, formal dinners and special occasions
  • Prepare and serve tea, coffee, wines, Champagne, cocktails and refreshments
  • Coordinate meal service with the Chef and wider household team
  • Welcome and serve guests with warmth, professionalism and discretion
  • Maintain the pantry, dining areas, silverware, crystal, china and table linens

Essential Requirements

  • Previous Butler experience within a private residence, luxury hotel or five-star hospitality environment
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge, including formal and wine service
  • Polished, well-presented and personable with excellent professional boundaries
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Comfortable working within a fully staffed household and reporting to a Head Butler
  • Flexible regarding shifts and occasional weekend work
  • Discreet, trustworthy and able to maintain absolute confidentiality
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Excellent, checkable references

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
