Full job description

We are looking for a Lecturer in Catering on a temporary basis.

This is a hands-on teaching role that would suit someone with strong catering and hospitality experience who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping students develop their practical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective catering and hospitality lessons.
  • Support students with both practical and theoretical learning.
  • Facilitate teaching within the commercial training restaurant, production kitchen and coffee lounge.
  • Provide guidance and support to students to help them develop their catering skills.
  • Carry out the administration associated with teaching and learning programmes.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, food safety and safe working practices.
  • Ensure food safety procedures are followed at all times within the training facilities.
  • Contribute to the effective delivery and management of learning programmes.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in Catering and Hospitality.
  • Relevant industrial/industry experience within catering or hospitality.
  • A recognised teaching qualification – training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English.
  • Level 2 IT literacy or equivalent.
  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) as a Further Education Support Worker (or willing to obtain registration upon appointment.)
  • DBS Check (or willingness to undergo a DBS check prior to employment)

Teaching Hours:

  • Tuesday: 9:30am – 1:30pm
  • Wednesday: 1:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Thursday: 9:30am – 1:30pm
  • Friday: 9:30am – 3:30pm
