Full job description

The Galley of Lorne Inn is looking for friendly, hardworking and flexible General Assistants to join our team at our highly rated inn on the west coast of Scotland.

This is a varied hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit hospitality team and is happy to get involved across all areas of the business. Duties will include housekeeping, breakfast service, waiting tables, bar work and helping wherever needed to ensure our guests receive the highest standards of service and hospitality.

We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, have excellent attention to detail and enjoy working in a busy hospitality environment.

About the Role:

  • Servicing guest bedrooms and maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Assisting with laundry duties and housekeeping operations
  • Supporting breakfast service and front of house operations
  • Waiting tables and assisting behind the bar
  • Helping maintain a warm, welcoming atmosphere for guests
  • Working flexibly across departments depending on business needs

What We’re Looking For:

  • Friendly, enthusiastic and reliable personality
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and use initiative
  • Flexibility and willingness to cover different areas of the business
  • High standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • Hospitality experience preferred, although training can be provided for the right candidate
  • Candidates looking for a long-term, permanent position

The Position:

  • Full-time permanent role
  • Summer and winter working patterns, typically up to 6 days per week during busy periods
  • 40+ hours per week during the summer season
  • Three-week winter closure period in November/December

Accommodation:
Accommodation is available if required, including bed & board and two meals per day regardless of shifts or days off. A daily charge of £10 is deducted from wages to cover this.
