Pay:

  • Catering Assistant: £12.71 per hour
  • Cook Manager: £15.00 per hour

Working Pattern & Hours:

  • Catering Assistant: 26 hours per week
  • Cook Manager: 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday

We're looking to recruit:

  • 2 x Catering Assistants (26 hours per week)
  • 1 x Cook Manager (40 hours per week)

About the Role

Whether you're an experienced Cook Manager looking to lead a busy school kitchen or a Catering Assistant who enjoys preparing and serving nutritious meals, you'll play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Working in a school environment offers an excellent work-life balance, with shifts during the day, Monday to Friday, and school holidays off.

You’ll work as part of a supportive team delivering great service while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals.
  • Support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a friendly and supportive team.
  • Cook Manager: Lead the kitchen operation, manage stock, ordering, compliance, budgets, and support your team to deliver an outstanding catering service.


What We’re Looking For

  • A positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
  • A passion for food and excellent customer service.
  • Previous catering or hospitality experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • For the Cook Manager role, previous kitchen, Cooking, leadership or supervisory experience is desirable
  • Food Hygiene qualifications are advantageous but not essential, as full training can be provided.

Additional Information

Term Time Only – Equated Pay
This role works 38/39 weeks per year. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
