Catering Manager

37.5 hours per week

Job Purpose

Denby Pottery is looking for a Catering Manager to join their busy team at the Denby Pottery Village. As a Catering Manager you will assume responsibility for all aspects of the catering operations at the Pottery Village and will help to develop the site to its full potential, enhancing the profile of the catering and maximising its profitability, through coaching and developing your team.

Job Duties

  • Overseeing of 2 catering units – Bournes and Farm Shop Café, managing a team of approx. 30
  • Developing new ideas to increase revenue.
  • Delivery of catering at events such as summer fete and Christmas market.
  • Creating and supporting in menu development and product development.
  • Cost management through payroll and margins.
  • Working closely with other teams such as our Experience Team to drive additional revenue drivers such as children’s parties and afternoon teas.
  • Coaching teams and being an ambassador, delivering the highest standards of cleanliness and customer service.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels through timely and effective replenishment of stock.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will model exceptional customer service standards and be passionate about offering great food with innovative ideas, delivering to a footfall of over 300,000 visitors. The right person for the role will have the following:

  • Catering management experience in busy visitor attraction / high footfall venue.
  • An Alcohol license.
  • A collaborative approach.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Ability to work the front of house, on the till and being hands on.
  • An understanding of current and future trends.
