Sous Chef - Sundays off

We are looking for a Sous chef to join our team for the 2025 season to help with the running of the kitchen at Yeatheridge Farm Caravan Park. We are a family run holiday park located on a farm in the glorious Mid Devon country side, a perfect location for exploring Devon during your time off.

The kitchen is a medium size and well kitted out. Our menu is based on home-cooked food in a country pub style offering, with the vast majority of our food produced in house. This includes maximizing the use of beef and lamb reared here on the farm. We also have a regularly changing specials board that you will be responsible for creating and delivering with the rest of the kitchen team.

Staff levels vary between working on your own when it is quiet, with three chefs and two assistants at peak times. You will be responsible for delivering consistent, great quality homecooked food prepared to a high standard, kitchen cleanliness, stock management and customer service. Therefore you should be capable of working independently and with other staff, be self-motivated and be able to meet the high expectation to maintain kitchen hygiene, service and organization. You must have previous catering experience and be able to demonstrate kitchen skills, knowledge, speed of delivery and ability to follow instructions

The salary is £3000.00 per Month with a £250 per Month bonus on completion of the contract in Ocotber, subject to achieving pre-agreed GP targets. Our tips are shared between all members of the team. The Hours would be 50 hours averagely per week, depending on how busy the site is.
The working week is 5 days in the low season and 5.5 days in the School Holidays. Days off will be Sundays and Mondays during the school term, working on a monday evening during the school holidays. The free accommodation can be provided in the form of a static caravan. Whilst not essential, it would be advantageous to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle since we are very rural with no public transport nearby. You will have free use of the onsite facilities on your time off.

The contract is from the middle of March to the 15th Ocotber. Accrued Holiday pay and bonus will be paid on completion of your contract and we would happily re-recruit for the following year if all goes well. This situation would be ideal for a work hard, play hard person looking for an extended winter break to refresh or travel.
