Full job description

Downshire Golf Complex is currently seeking a dedicated and self-motivated individual to take on this role.

Working 5 from 7 days most of the business is daytime hours although some evenings will be required to cater for our diverse business.

We’re looking for someone with a strong food led background, either from a similar type of venue or pub/restaurant etc. With leadership qualities and a hands-on approach, we want someone who can lead from the front, improving the friendly food and beverage team and deliver a great experience to the strong golfing community and visitors at Downshire Golf Complex.

This is a senior management role reporting directly to the General Manager.

We need a Catering Manager who will…

  • Lead from the front, taking ownership of the business as a hands-on manager.
  • Be comfortable in a senior management role, with excellent organisational skills.
  • Have a solid catering background with strong cooking experience in either a similar type of venue or pub/restaurant.
  • Be highly knowledgeable in the management of allergen and food hygiene practices.
  • Have knowledge and experience in bar operations.
  • Be focused on, and deliver through your team, excellent customer service standards and facility presentation.
  • Help shape the catering department at Downshire and in turn the Everyone Active golf group moving forward.
  • Have basic IT operational skills, to compile rotas, reports, and complete stocktaking and ordering.
  • Be confident and competent with assessing business performance, identifying and delivering commercial Improvements and actively demonstrate cost control.
  • Be flexible in their approach to times of work, prioritising busy days and important events.
  • Develop relationships with club users and the community.
  • Sell the complex through their professionalism and detailed care.
  • Be able to work and manage effectively with a range of colleagues, stakeholders.

This position is full time (40hpw) and will involve weekend work and evenings when required.

You must be able to commute to Downshire Golf Complex without the reliance on public transport

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
