Love cooking but want your evenings, weekends and school holidays back?

Ideal School Meals is looking for an experienced, reliable and enthusiastic Mobile School Cook to join our friendly team, providing cover across our kitchens in Boston, Bourne, Grantham and Sleaford.

If you enjoy cooking, like a bit of variety and want a role that fits around school term times, we'd love to hear from you.

What we offer

  • Term time only working – enjoy your school holidays!
  • Monday to Friday, generally 7am–2pm.
  • No regular evening or weekend shifts.
  • Company vehicle provided for travel between kitchen sites.
  • A varied role working with different teams across Lincolnshire.
  • The opportunity to make a difference by providing nutritious meals to school children.

What you'll be doing

As our Mobile School Cook, you'll step in to support our kitchen teams during staff absences, helping us deliver high quality school meals.

You'll prepare and cook delicious main meals and desserts, assist with hot and cold food production, manage portion control and maintain excellent food hygiene standards.

You'll also be responsible for following our food allergen procedures and safely preparing meals for children with special dietary requirements.

What we're looking for

  • Previous cooking experience, ideally in a school, care home or busy catering kitchen.
  • Experience managing food allergens and special dietary requirements.
  • A minimum of Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence.
  • Someone organised, dependable and comfortable working independently.
  • A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to work across different kitchens.
