We are looking for an enthusiastic Chef on a permanent, full-time basis to work at our Caerphilly care home.

What you'll do

This is a permanent role working 36 hours per week, to include alternate weekends. You'll be in a key role where you can make a difference. You will control and manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You will ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen. You will also be responsible for directing and supervising kitchen staff and ensuring they are also aware of their responsibilities with regard to food hygiene and preparation. We have a 5 out of 5 hygiene rating on all our sites.

What you'll need

To be successful in this role you will need an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) as well as professional catering experience. You will have the skills and knowledge to communicate clearly, manage a team and have proven ability to deliver a high standard of food service.

Ty Penrhos Care Home in Caerphilly is a large 83 bed home providing a modern, homely setting for older people needing EMI and residential care. The design of Ty Penrhos supports an environment that enables independence and choice within a comfortable and secure setting.
