Catering Assistant

Term-Time, plus one week Contract for Services

About the Role

We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our dedicated catering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering high standards of food service, cleanliness and customer care to our students, staff and visitors.

What you will do

  • Serving food in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
  • Set up, replenish and maintain the servery throughout service.
  • Clean and prepare service areas before, during and after mealtimes.
  • Assist with basic food preparation under the guidance of the kitchen team.
  • Supporting colleagues with kitchen duties during busy and quieter periods.
  • Help with catering for school events and functions.
  • Follow all food hygiene, food safety and HACCP procedures.
  • Demonstrate allergen awareness and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

What we are looking for

  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
  • Allergen Awareness training (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or customer facing role
  • Basic food preparation skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • A flexible approach and willing to support across the kitchen, servery and school events.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, equality and data protection
