At Monkey World, we pride ourselves on delivering quality food in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Assistant Catering Manager to join our team and assist our Guest Services Manager. Your role will be to ensure the food and refreshment outlets operate to the highest standards across our 67 acre primate rescue centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Guest Services Manager in overseeing day-to-day catering operations in a high-pressure environment.
  • Assist with staff training, and performance, ensuring a motivated and efficient team.
  • Ensure all food safety & hygiene regulations are adhered to, recorded and reported to the higher management team on a weekly basis.
  • Support in stock control and managing food waste to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, handling feedback and resolving issues promptly.
  • Dealing with customer concerns and complaints.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure everything is in safe working order.
  • Take charge of the catering department in the absence of the Guest Services Manager.
  • Ensuring allergen information is up to date.
  • Ensuring the team are busy even on days with low visitor numbers

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar catering management role, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • A positive, can-do attitude – always seeing the value in leading by example.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the business.
  • A good level of fitness since the catering outlets are spread across our 67 acre woodland park
