We are seeking an experienced Assistant Chef to join our team in Meadowlark Care Home for 22.5 hours per week.

As an Assistant Chef in one of our care homes, your duties will include supporting and working alongside the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team to prepare healthy and nutritious seasonal meals for our residents as well as catering for those with any specialist dietary requirements. So you'll have plenty of opportunity to put your interest and passion for food to good use. You will be in sole charge of running the kitchen and leading the team on some days, so some experience in this would be advantageous.

You’ll be experienced in food preparation and cooking, ensuring a range of options are available at mealtimes for our residents to choose from. You will be responsible for checking and maintaining kitchen equipment, reporting any damages or breakages to the maintenance team or home manager. You will follow and supervise the kitchen team to work within COSHH and HACCP regulations and maintaining the highest hygiene standards and ensuring infection control protocols are followed in the kitchen.

Pay: £13.50 per hour
