Full job description

  • Hours: 35 per week, Term Time
  • Salary: £29,094 - £29,894 pro rata
  • Permanent

You will manage the catering function in Holywell High School and primary school, ensuring menu compliance and adherence to food regulations and health and safety regulations, liaising closely and regularly with the Head teacher, staff and pupils deal with issues as they arise, also promote the school meal service You will also be responsible for managing and training catering assistants, stock control, food costing, running of the cashless systems and other clerical duties.

Our successful candidate will:
- Have an aptitude for developing methodical ways of working, capable of effectively and efficiently organising and supervising staff
- Be certified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in catering and nutrition and level 2 or equivalent in food hygiene
- Have demonstrable experience of cooking and working within a large and fast paced catering kitchen or meal production facility
- Promote and personally demonstrate adaptability and flexibility
- Be a positive motivator of staff able to instil professional pride
- Show capability in using technology to record, monitor and manage data and performance information as well as communicating and encouraging its use, within the business and with colleagues
- Be experienced in budget and financial monitoring, to meet performance targets
- Have excellent customer service skills and the ability to foster harmonious teamwork
- Pay attention to detail, ensuring application of health & safety and compliance with operating procedures
