Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their culinary skills within a professional setting. The position involves assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and general kitchen duties to ensure smooth daily operations.

The role is for 45 hours per week over 5 days.

28 days holiday per year - Including bank holidays

Duties

  • Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with menu specifications
  • Support cooking activities under supervision, ensuring quality standards are met
  • Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment in line with food safety regulations
  • Help with storing ingredients correctly and organising stock supplies
  • Support the serving team during busy periods to ensure timely delivery of meals
  • Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards
  • Assist with washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients as required
  • Contribute to the overall organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen environment

Skills

  • Previous experience in catering is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • Good understanding of food preparation and safety procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
