Full job description
The Kitchen is the beating heart of any home and a vital part of providing for the needs of the children in our care, and we need a dedicated hard working and conscientious person to help run it.
We are looking for a Nursery Chef to cater for 45-80 children per day, 5 days a week, around the hours of 8am-2pm, so its a pretty busy kitchen! You will need to be able to cook good wholesome food as well as catering for a range of dietary requirements. Not only that but we strive for an adventurous and challenging menu too.
You will be responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen and maintaining hygiene standards, completing the appropriate paperwork and ordering supplies too, as well as helping with menu development.
You will have some experience in catering for this kind of number of people, as well as understanding the nutritional needs of the children you are cooking for. Preferable too is some qualification in this line of work as well as a current Food Hygiene certificate. A sunny disposition is vital too, because of the contact you will have with the children and so you fit in to the working family we have here.
For Information, Please apply with your CV and a covering letter.
Hours are to be confirmed but will be at least 30 hours per week, preferably 8am-2pm, though there may be some flexibility in this, and maybe the opportunity for longer hours. Safeguarding is of upmost importance to us and relevant suitability checks will be carried out before any appointment. We of course expect those standards to be upheld in your time with us.
Successful applicants will be emailed in the first instance through indeed.com. Please check your spam folders for our response. You will be asked to complete an application form before any interview. Any successful interviewees will be asked to do a further trial session before any appointment is made. Successful applications will be subject to a probationary period. If you have any further questions please ask!
