Head Chef
Job Description

As exciting position has arisen at Marlborough golf club. We are looking for a high caliber and dedicated individual who is passionate about cooking and producing great 'homemade' food from scratch, for members and visitors, working varied shift patterns to fit the needs of the business.

Marlborough Golf Club has a reputation as one of the best golf courses in Wiltshire. We have a busy function business and understand the importance that high-quality catering is fundamental to the reputation of the club. In addition to the bar, and restaurant we are a reputed Sunday carvery venue. We provide superior function and meeting facilities for members and visitors ranging from intimate gastro gatherings to 100-guest weddings.

You will be working as part of a small team in all sections of the kitchen, preparing and cooking fresh ingredients to the highest standard of quality and presentation, ensuring that wastage is kept to a minimum, keeping robust HACCP records, and maintaining strict food hygiene and health and safety standards.

Duties include:

  • Managing and overseeing banqueting and functions in addition to the bar and restaurant catering requirements
  • Control and direct the food preparation and delivery processes
  • Ability to design new and creative dishes consistent with current market trends
  • Managing staff rotas, training, kitchen staff
  • Manage and control the inventory and ordering processes
  • Manage the GP, wage cost analysis and wastage

Candidate

Your talent for providing exceptional catering service means you are highly organised and have positive communication skills, comfortable training and directing staff with a can-do attitude.

  • · Appropriate professional cookery qualifications, including HSE and food hygiene
  • · Passionate about cooking with fresh ingredients
  • · Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • · Ability to positively motivate, train and manage staff
  • · Experienced in delivering large banquets and functions
