Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. This role involves supporting food preparation, cooking, and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, food safety, and providing excellent service. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment while contributing to the creation of delicious meals for our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established specs and standards
  • Support the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure hygiene compliance
  • Prepare ingredients and assist with food plating for service
  • Follow food safety guidelines at all times, maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of ingredients
  • Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and replenishment of supplies
  • Support senior kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure timely meal service
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work efficiently as part of a team

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen roles is preferred, training will be provided
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is desirable
  • Experience working in a catering environment is advantageous
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends if required
