Front of House Catering Lead

The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club (RCYC) is a vibrant, riverside club, family orientated and friendly, located in Burnham on Crouch, an hour east of London.

Following a reorganisation and in response to our growing membership and business profile we are seeking to recruit a FOH Catering Lead who together with the Bar Manager, Chef and Office teams will represent the Club front of house and will provide a high standard of customer service to both club members and to all who attend outside functions. Not only does the Club have a packed sailing diary for all ages and abilities and extensive member social and catered events but it also hosts a full range of external functions, priding itself on high level delivery of bespoke weddings, simple buffet to silver service banquets, parties, family celebrations, wakes, business functions or simple gatherings.

Responsibilities will include:

• Leading the functions team to deliver friendly, welcoming and professional catering service for members, visitors and external users.
• Training, developing and motivating the team to high standards of customer service
• Liaising with the Bar Manager, Head Chef and Office Manager on the day to day running of the FOH catering side of the Club
• Front of House lead and duty manager responsibilities to deliver functions
• Efficient room management
• Ensuring maintenance of industry health and safety standards
• Opening and closing duties
• Responsibility for financial performance within advised criteria

The ideal candidate will be:

• Hands on, customer focused with a background in high level, professional hospitality delivery
• An organised and flexible person who has a passion for delivering quality and driving high standards
• An individual who is looking to further their career and accept a challenge to take both this and the Club offer to a higher level
• An excellent communicator with good people skills and a positive, service orientated attitude
• Able to work as part of a team with efficient management of time and resources
• Able to train and mentor staff and maximise achievement within a team
• A basic understanding of how a private members’ club operates, an understanding of sailing would be advantageous not essential

Due to the nature of Club activities and the peaks that occur throughout the season the working hours need flexibility but are based on a core 20 hour week. Weekends and evenings are peak times with summertime being busier than winter.

We are offering an hourly rate of £15 depending on experience.
