About us:
Rider House Nursing Home is a privately-owned care home registered for a maximum of 42 service users and is based in a convenient location just off the A511 and close to the A38 in Burton upon Trent.
Our aim at Rider House is to provide the highest standard of care in a relaxed, friendly environment. We ensure that residents are able to still enjoy the freedom and lifestyle of their choice, whilst receiving care that is appropriate to their needs built on dignity and respect.
We are currently looking for a Cook to join our dedicated team. Experience is essential as you will be preparing and cooking wonderful nutritious meals for our fantastic residents.
The main purpose of the Cooks role is to organise and control the efficient production of quality food, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with regulations. Food preparation will be expected to be of a very high standard and will include preparing, cooking, and serving hot and cold meals, as and when required.
Cook Duties include:
To ensure the care home residents receive a varied, appealing, wholesome, and nutritious diet, which is suited to individually assessed needs.
manage the home’s food ordering, storage, cooking, service, and disposal process in accordance with the Food Safety Act 1990 and amendments.
To carry out regular hazard analysis of food production areas and the food production chain
To keep all records required by the Food Safety Act 1990 and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety 2008
To ensure the purchase of foodstuffs are controlled within the specified budget.
What you will bring: -
A respectful, courteous and compassionate nature and belief in giving your personal best at all times.
Good communication skills to effectively interact with residents and fellow colleagues.
Reliability and flexibility to support the nature of the business.
Skills & Qualifications desirable but not essential: -
Level 2 in Hospitality and Catering or equivalent or
Minimum 2 years experience as a Cook
Successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
