Location: Shanklin Day Nursery, Stoneygate, Leicester
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–3:30pm (flexible)
Pay: From £13.40 per hour, negotiable based on experience

Are you a passionate cook who loves creating healthy, delicious meals — and wants to make a real difference every day?

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Nursery Cook to join our small and welcoming team at Shanklin Day Nursery, a well-established, family-run setting in the heart of Stoneygate, close to Leicester city centre and bus routes.

Job Role

As our Nursery Cook, you’ll play a vital role in our setting. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Cooking fresh, healthy meals for children aged 0–5 (menus are provided)
  • Managing dietary requirements and allergies
  • Ordering weekly food supplies and managing stock
  • Ensuring excellent hygiene and food safety standards
  • Cleaning of dishes, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Keeping kitchen areas clean and well-organised
  • Completing Environmental Health and Safer Food, Better Business documentation

What You’ll Need

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene/Safety qualification (essential)
  • Enhanced DBS (can be arranged if not current)
  • Experience in a nursery or care environment is a bonus — but not essential
  • A warm, organised approach and great communication skills
