Salary: £15,896 pro rata for 22.5 hours per week

Join our team as a Family Navigator and make a real difference in your community. This varied and rewarding role will see you out and about each day, speaking to and connecting with families at our library drop-in sessions across East Wiltshire. This includes the towns of Bulford, Larkhill, Tidworth and Amesbury.

We are looking for someone who is confident, approachable, and well-informed about the local area, with a passion for creating inclusive spaces where people feel valued and supported.

No two days are the same, and you may start your day off at a local library and finish it by talking to parents at the school gate. You’ll be building strong relationships with libraries, schools and other family hub colleagues using your growing knowledge of local services and activities to confidently navigate families to find the right support, ensuring they can access what’s available in their community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Family Navigator, you will be a key part of the local community support network, helping families access the right services at the right time. You will work across Family Hub flagship buildings and community venues, acting as a visible, approachable presence for families and partner organisations.

  • Help families, children and young people navigate the range of services available across the Family Hub network.
  • Build strong partnerships with schools, early years settings, health services, and community groups.
  • Promote Family Hub services through community engagement and local events.
  • Support co production activities with families and colleagues to shape local services.
  • Map community resources
  • Promote volunteering opportunities to help strengthen local community resilience

ABOUT YOU

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in a relevant field such as health, social care, family studies, youth work or community development.
  • Experience working with families or communities in supportive or outreach-based roles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of partners and services.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, local services and the challenges families may face.
  • Strong organisational, problem solving and advocacy skills.
  • Empathy, cultural sensitivity and a non-judgmental approach.
  • Ability to travel regularly across the service area; occasional regional or national travel may be required.
