About Us

AM Surveying & Block Management provides Block Management and Building Surveying consultancy services across London and the South East.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Building Surveyor to join our professional and supportive team. This role offers excellent exposure to the Block Management industry, working with property owners, contractors, residents, and industry professionals across a varied portfolio of developments.

We are looking for a motivated and professional individual who can add value to our growing business and continue to develop their surveying career.

This position is suitable for persons who have AssocRics; or persons with similar professional services background looking to expand their skills.

The Role

As Building Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting site inspections and preparing reports
  • Meeting with contractors to discuss projects and repairs
  • Preparing specifications of works for routine and cyclical repairs
  • Diagnosing causes of water ingress and building defects
  • Carrying out Reinstatement Cost Assessments (RCAs)
  • Assisting with tendering processes and project management
  • Liaising with clients, residents, contractors, and colleagues across the portfolio

This is a field-based role, with the majority of time spent attending sites across London and the South East.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Building Surveying is essential
  • Strong understanding of building pathology and defect diagnosis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional and confident approach when dealing with clients and residents
  • Ability to manage workload effectively with strong organisational skills
  • Comfortable travelling across London and the South East
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Previous experience within Property Management or Block Management is desirable
