Full job description

Full-Time | Part-Time | Freelance Opportunities

We’re growing — and we’re looking for experienced RICS-qualified surveyors to join Fitzgerald Surveying Services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, independent RICS-regulated surveying practice, with flexibility around how you work with us. We are open to full-time employees, part-time surveyors and experienced freelance surveyors looking for a regular stream of work.

Our workload is predominantly residential and includes RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys, alongside a growing range of specialist building surveying instructions.

We’re looking for surveyors who take pride in producing thorough, practical and genuinely useful advice for clients — while maintaining the high professional standards expected of an RICS-regulated firm.

The Role

Depending on your experience and preferred working arrangement, your work may include:

  • Undertaking RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys
  • Inspecting a wide range of residential properties
  • Identifying building defects, maintenance requirements and potential risks
  • Producing clear, detailed and client-focused survey reports
  • Providing practical advice to purchasers following inspections
  • Undertaking other building surveying and specialist inspection work where appropriate
  • Managing your own inspections and workload while working alongside our wider team
  • Maintaining consistently high standards of professionalism, reporting and customer service

Who We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in hearing from surveyors who are:

  • RICS qualified – AssocRICS, MRICS or FRICS
  • Experienced in residential property inspections and surveying
  • Competent in undertaking RICS Home Surveys
  • Confident identifying and explaining common building defects
  • Strong report writers with excellent attention to detail
  • Professional and comfortable communicating directly with clients
  • Organised and capable of managing their own workload
  • Reliable, proactive and committed to delivering a high-quality service

Experience in areas such as damp and moisture investigations, thermal imaging, defect diagnosis, condition surveys or other specialist surveying services would also be advantageous.

Why Join Fitzgerald Surveying Services?

We’re building an ambitious modern surveying practice and want good surveyors to grow with us.

Rather than offering a rigid one-size-fits-all position, we're happy to discuss an arrangement that works for the right person.

We can consider:

  • Full-time employment
  • Part-time employment
  • Freelance / subcontract surveying
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Regular surveying instructions
  • Opportunities to become more involved as the business continues to expand

You'll be joining a small but growing independent team, where your contribution matters and there is genuine scope for the role to develop alongside the company.

If you're an experienced RICS surveyor looking for greater flexibility, a regular workload, or the opportunity to join a growing independent practice, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply through Indeed with your CV and a brief introduction outlining your RICS status, surveying experience and preferred working arrangement.

Pay: £250.00-£700.00 per day

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Buckinghamshire
